How to read the report

The first thing you will notice is the Sales Overview at the top of the page. This provides a quick snapshot of your business's overall sales performance for the current year. The KPI card shows the Actual Sales Amount, YoY Variance, and the YoY Variance %. This gives an instant understanding of whether sales are growing, remaining flat, or declining compared to the prior year. For example, in this report, the sales have increased by £7M, reflecting a 103% year-on-year growth. This is a strong indicator of positive momentum in the business.
Key Drivers for Sales Growth and Decline
Directly below the sales overview, the report dives deeper into what’s driving changes in your sales with two key sections:
- Key Drivers for Sales Growth (left table)
- Key Drivers for Sales Decline (right table)
Each table ranks the Dimension Types and Dimension Values that contribute most to your sales performance.
- Dimension Type represents an attribute of a business area. For example, if the dimension is 'Order,' then the Dimension Type could be 'Order Source' or 'Units per Order.'
- Dimension Value refers to the specific values within that type, such as 'Google,' 'Facebook,' or 'Direct' under the 'Order Source' Dimension Type.
The key drivers are ranked using a smart algorithm, which allows the report to focus on the most significant factors influencing sales performance. This ranking helps you cut through the noise, ensuring you focus on what matters most to drive your business forward.
